The Value of Treatment: Policy roundtable on the economic implications of Alzheimer’s disease in Europe

Registration is closed for this event
Register now and join us in the European Parliament on 25 September at 9:30-11:00 for the Alzheimer's policy roundtable.

The importance of early detection and diagnosis in addressing the economic burden of Alzheimer’s has been highlighted in the EBC Value of Treatment project amongst others.

Crucially, so that this research agenda and debate can translate into better policy to bring about real benefits for people with Alzheimer’s disease, the “silver economy” theme must also resonate with policymakers and other stakeholders on EU and national level who can drive change.

To this end, and building on the previous editions of the “What if” Alzheimer’s policy roundtables on human rights and ethics supported by MSD, this roundtable will bring together key policy, patient group, clinical and academic stakeholders to discuss the economic implications of Alzheimer’s disease, what can be done to mitigate costs today and, looking ahead, prepare the environment for future developments in the clinical sphere that could significantly reduce the economic burden of Alzheimer’s in the long term.

The discussion and actions agreed at the event will be reflected in a White Paper on the future of Alzheimer’s policy in Europe, jointly developed by EBC, EFNA and MSD amongst others.
